Celebrating 9 Years: CrateInsider.Com

To celebrate their 9 year anniversary, CrateInsider needed a new website. They wanted the new website to make the customer experience much smoother and enjoyable, with an easier checkout and reorder process. CrateInsider.com sells parts for dirt circle track crate engines, and also specializes in tech knowledge and tips. Because their website is so information and product heavy, they needed a website that is easily navigated for customers, but can also not drag with the “weight” that having a large video library can cause.

Because they hadn’t updated their website in at least 5 years, the website needed a major overhaul. Their ECommerce platform had updated its software to a new version, and in order to use it a lot of their website had to change. This posed a major hurdle, as they have over 700 products and 80 manufacturers. All of which had to change to meet the new criteria. They also wanted to upgrade their customer experience so that customers could reorder frequently purchased products easily, search for products by SKU, and find the tech information they needed faster. We’re happy to say that their new website does all of these things wonderfully.

On a Performance test, their new website showed a massive improvement over the old one. Performance Tests show us how well a website performs for users, an important task because if a website loads too slowly, users may leave and choose to go elsewhere. Page speed also showed an improvement, as well as SEO (search engine optimization). Search engines rank websites with high performance higher in search results, which is a necessity if you’re selling products!

With the new website, customers will be able to sign in and reorder products that they've previously purchased, search by product number, and also see what's in their cart on the screen throughout the online shopping process. Another great feature is that the product inventory will be easily located on each product to see what is in stock at all times.

"A lot has changed on the internet since we last updated our site, and it was time for us to level up here at CrateInsider. Our company has grown exponentially in the past few years, and we needed a website that reflected our growth, and better served our customers and their needs", says CrateInsider.com Owner and CEO Kate Dillon.
